Olota Confirms Chief Ahmed Babatunde Olufemi as authentic Baale of Iyesi, Ota

The Olota of Ota in Aworiland, Oba Prof. Abdulkabir Adeyemi Obalanlege has installed Chief Ahmed Babatunde Olufemi popularly known as ‘Fobai’ as the new Baale of Iyesi-Ota.

Chief Olufemi, a successful businessman and grassroots mobiliser is the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Fobai Company Limited. He was born in Isalu in Iyesi-Ota and was installed by the Olota in May, 2021.

Chief Olufemi was installed as the authentic baale on merit after due consultations with the ruling families in Iyesi, the kingmakers and other relevant stakeholders in the community.

Kabiyesi Olota advised the Baale through a letter sent to him to see his installation as a call to further serve the people of Iyesi and grow the community into a world class society. 

“It is important to note that the appointment was on merit and should be seen as a call to further serve the good people of Iyesi - Ota and Awori Kingdom at large in the course of our collective desire to grow the land into a world class society”. The letter reads in part.

In an interview with the head of Isalu, a ruling family in Iyesi - Ota, Mr. Ahmed Yahyah, popularly known as Banuso, said the selection of Chief Olufemi as the new Baale in Iyesi-Ota is one that has been ordained by God, adding that the family and community thrown their weight behind him because of the trust and love which they have for him. "Isalu family is one of the foremost families that settled in Iyesi and that they have been occupying the position over time."

He assured indigenes and residents of Iyesi - Ota of instant development as his network is rich enough to attract viable projects to the ancient town.

The Bale and the entire family therefore assured the Peace loving people of Iyesi town to disregard any personality portraying himself as Bale, also appealed to anyone in doubt to consult the palace of Olota of Ota for further clarifications.

When contacted Kabiyesi Olota on phone, he urged the two parties to come to palace for resolution on any chaos that might arise between them.
