BLACK WEDNESDAY: 18 People Feared burnt to death in accident at idiroko road

The residents and commuters within Ajilete near Idiroko Border in Ogun State are still in a great shock following a fatal crash that involved an 18-seater commercial bus and a petrol tanker this morning Wednesday, June 16, 2021.




The ugly incident, INFORMATION CARRIER gathered occourred around 8.30am when the 18 seater bus had a head-on collision with the petrol tanker and all the passengers in the bus were burnt beyond recognition.

It was learnt that the bus which has already been on excess speed lost control and collided with the tanker while trying to overtake in a wrong way when descending from the sloppy area of the road, therefore busted into flames.



An eyewitness account told INFORMATION CARRIER that rescue team including operatives of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and Police are already on the ground.

The accident has rendered the Idiroko international road impassable as traffic has been at stand-still.
