PLANE CRASH: Rivers FRSC, other security agencies pay condolence visit to GOC 6 Div Nigeria Army

The Rivers State Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) CC Salisu Umar Galadunci and other heads of Security Agencies in the  state have paid a condolence visit to GOC 6 Div Nigeria Army Port Harcourt to commiserate with the General Officer Commanding, Major General SG Mohammed for the unfortunate loss of lives of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Ibrahim Attahiru and 10 others  in the ill-fated plane crash that occured on 21st May, 2021 in Kaduna. 


The visit was coordinated by CC Galadunci. 

Speaking on behalf of other delegations,  expressed the shock and sadness that befell them upon hearing the news of the plane crash that led to the untimely death of the revered COAS. 

He added that the lost was not only to the Nigeria Army or the Military rather it was for all well meaning Nigerians including the FRSC and other Services. 



The Sector Commander further said the services of the Late COAS couldn't have being better needed now, especially considering the renewed hope he came with in the fight against insurgency and other insecurity bedevilling the nation given his vast experience in Operation Lafia Dole in the North East when he was a Theater Commander before his appointment to head Nigeria Army

The Sector Commander regretted how the country lost finest Officers including the Chief of  Army Intelligence Brigadier General Abdurahman Kuliya who was said to be the brain behind the begining of destabilising the camp of insurgents in the North East. 



The Sector Commander prayed for the repose of the souls of departed Miliary Officers and men. He also prayed that the families fond the fortitude to bear the irreparable lost. He assured that their lost was not in vain, rather they died heros whose names will be written in golden book of the history of Nigeria.

In his response, the GOC Major General SG Mohammed who could not hide his joy for the visit despite the sorrowful mood, thanked the visitors for finding time to come out of their busy schedules. 




He said indeed it is a difficult time for him and his Officers but is consoled by the fact knowing that the Division is not alone but other Agencies are right there for them in this hard times. He said the visit will forever be remembered by him and his entire Division, is highly appreciated and not taken for granted and will be communicated to the HQ of Nigeria Army for record purposes. 

The high points of the visit was the presentation of the signed condolence letter by the Sector Commander on behalf of the other visiting Heads of Agencies present,  and signing of condolence register by the individual Heads of Agencies which included the Controller Nigeria Correctional Services, Controller Alex Oditah,Controller   Nigeria Immigration Services, Controller Dayo Oni, Controller  Nigeria Customs Services, Controller Ndarni, the Commandant NDLEA, Commander Rachael Shelleng. 

On the other hand some of the Officers that joined the GOC receiving the delegation were Brig. K. Chigbu, Brig. General  Bayode Adetoro, Brig General MD Danja the Garrison Commander, Col, Anthony Ozenhoya, and Provost Col Salihu among others.
