TRAGEDY: Two Students Of Same Parent Killed In Ogun Auto Crash

Two students from Ogun State public schools, INFORMATION CARRIER gathered lost their lives in auto crash this morning, Thursday, April 1, 2021, while on motorbike to their respective schools. 



The victims are from Idagba Community High School and Wesley Primary School, Ogijo. The two victims are brothers of  same parents.

The accident, it was learnt occourred around 8am at Sotubo, along Sagamu - Ikorodu road and it involved a Man Diesel (Red colour) with registration number LSD638QB and a Bajaj Red motorcycle numbered SHR 35 XA 

The causes of the ugly incident according to Public Relations Officer of Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Cdr Babatunde Akinbiyi, was reckless driving and Impatience on the part of the motorcyclist conveying the children to their various schools.

He said six people involved in the accident. Two male in the truck while three male and one female on the motorbike. 

The TRACE PRO said: "three persons on the motorcycle are students of Idagba Community High School, Sotubo, Wesley Primary School, Ogijo, with one them riding the motorcycle to another school.
 
He explained that the crash occourred when the motorcyclist fell down while making a wrong overtaking in between two trailers and one of the trailers rear tyre matched over the victims killing two brothers from the same parents on spot.

He said the trailer driver and the motorclist have been handed over to the Division Police Station, Sotubo, Ogijo while the injured victims and the presumed dead taken to Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH) byTRACE and FRSC officials

While TRACE Corps commiserate with the family of the deceased, it is also using this medium to appeal to pillion riders (okada riders), to please exercise patience and caution, as well as avoid reckless and dangerous riding because of its attendant consequences.
