The traditional ruler of Ikaare kingdom, a coastal area of Lagos State has appealed to both Federal and State Governments to remember his kingdom in their developmental agenda.

Alayeluwa Oba (Dr) Kayode Akinyemi, Adojo II, Alabirun of Ikaare Kingdom disclosed this while speaking with journalists at his palace.

He said: "In Ikaare Kingdom we need government's infrastructure. Am pleading with the government at both federal and state levels to remember Ikaare in their developmental agenda. We want hospitals that can provide quality health care for our people. Unfortunately, we have no hospital in Ikaare, our people always travel to Ojo or Badagry to receive medical treatments," he said.

Oba Akinyemi appealed to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to build a sustainable health system to improve health care of the people here in Ikaare waterside.

He said youths in the community were jobless and the government needed to come to their rescue to stem the tide of crime.

Oba Akinyemi called on the government to develop the natural potential of Ikaare which could help to boost the economy and provide more jobs for youths.

He said Ikaare had the ocean that could be converted to tourist attractions, by building resorts, improving transportation systems, and empowering fishermen.
According to the traditional ruler, the community already had both primary and secondary schools, but the difficulty of crossing the lagoon made it difficult for teachers and students to attend the schools.
