Shell Donates COVID -19 Prevention Items To FRSC Rivers Command

As part of the Company's social corporate responsibility (CSR) and as result of the long term relationship with Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Rivers Command that the Management of Shell Nigeria Plc came on a visit and donated coronavirus prevention items to RS6.1 Rivers Sector Command on March 19, 2021. 



Receiving them in his office, the Sector Commander Corps Commander Salisu Umar Galadunci rss while welcoming them , he appreciated the Company for its painstaking efforts to purchase and supply the invaluable items to the Command despite the economic hardships being experienced as a result of the pandemic. He further said that he was informed about the existing cordial relationship between the Command and Shell Nigeria Plc over the years. He therefore reiterated his commitment to maintaining it and even improving in the partnership drive for the good of the country and for saving lives on the Highways. 

Earlier the Company's representative led by Anike Kakayor, Head Sponsorship and Social Investment expressed her delight of the way FRSC Rivers conducts its mandate of safe guiding lives on the Highways and aggressive enlightenment campaigns at motor garages and the media. She said the enlightenment campaigns have improved the driving culture of road users, thus her Company deem it fit to partner with FRSC Rivers in achieving this. 

In addition she regretted that because of the height of the pandemic last year, the reason why the Company suspended public campaigns sponsorship rather they purchased the items for the staff to use in protecting themselves on the road and in office considering the vulnerability and being exposed to motorists daily.

Items donated by the Company are one hundred and seventy (170) pieces of nose mask, one hundred and fifty (150) pieces of reflective jackets, three cartons (3) hand sanitizer, ten pieces (10) of body temperature gauge and two (2) alcohol breath testing kits. 

Anike Kakayor Mrs was accompanied by Mirian Udoumo, Road Safety Adviser, Ifeoma Okonkwo, External Relations Adviser and Mr Idongesit Etukudo Corporate Responsibility Officer for Shell Nigeria PLC.
