Hunters' Group of Nigeria personnel charged to be of good conduct

By OLALEKAN AYENI --- The Commander General of Hunters Group of Nigeria (HGN), Amb Joshua Osatimehin has admonished personnel to be of good conduct especially while discharging their duties and also cultivate a positive attitude to work.

He advised the Corps' personnel to collaborate with other safety and security agencies in the fight of crime related issues in the country.

He gave the advice at the official inauguration of Lagos State Command of the newly established security outfit in collaboration with Nigeria Police Force at Police College, Lagos. 

Amb Osatimehin explained that HGN is newly established security agency established by the Federal Government, saddled with responsibility of serving as an eagle eyes to police in various communities as a proactive approach to combat crimes. 

He stressed that all the Corps personnel are expected to cultivate good conduct and  cautious in approach when dealing with police officers and other security agencies to forestall clashes in operations. 

The Commander General Osatimehin noted that the agency would have zero tolerance for indiscipline and abuse of power in the society.

He applauded the Corps personnel for excellent performance in parade, pledging that the agency would not failed in taking good care of the staff to enhance their performances that would enable the Security outfit achieve its goals.

Amb Osatimehin called on residents, traditional and community leaders across the country to be security-conscious and report any strange and misconduct noticing within their neighbourhoods to police or any other security agencies for quick intervention, saying security of life and property is everybody's business.  

In his welcome Address, the Lagos State Commander, Chief Balogun Ogunniyi, said the agencies vision and mandate is to compliment the efforts of Police and other existed security agencies to prevent crime in the society.

He stressed that the agency would always have joint patrols with police to reduce communial killings, kidnappings, curbing cultism and finding solutions to Community crimes. Critical joint patrols with police and community awareness campaign against insecurity is one of the major functions of the group, he said.

Commander Balogun appealed to Lagosians to cooperate with the agency and Police in the cause of fighting crime and criminality in Lagos State.

The event was well attended by top ranks in security agencies, traditional rulers, political stalwarts and business moguls across the country.
