BREAKING: Herdsmen, cows take over CBN Headquarters in Abuja

Fulani herdsmen and their cows have reportedly taken over CBN Headquarters road in Abuja.

In viral photos shared by a Twitter user, Hannah Rachael, the herders were seen with their cows on the major road in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

This generated mixed reactions from Nigerians as some said the menace of herdsmen and cows is becoming overbearing.

“They disturb free flow of traffic on the road, bounce on people’s farm and eat up their plants. They defecate on the streets and litter the environment with their feaces all in the name of grazing”, Fiona Majekodunmi wrote.

Meanwhile, amid the crisis generated by the quit notice given to herders in Ogun and Oyo states,  a former All Progressives Congress, APC,  presidential aspirant,  Adamu Garba, has said it is wrong for cows to be roaming about in Nigeria in this 21century.

He also said there is no land in Nigeria that does not belong to either the federal,  state or local governments,  saying land can only be used upon agreement with the owner.

Adamu,  who said these in a post on his Facebook page,  blamed those he called city Fulani for not making a case for ranching to be used for grazing by herders.

His words:”I’m a Fulani man, but I can tell you that it doesn’t make sense for cows to be roaming the streets in 2021...."
